What is Memory?

Memory is our brain's ability to encode, store, retain, and retrieve information. In other words, memory means using our past experiences to determine our current behaviour. It is the capability to recall past experiences, previously learned facts, skills, habits, and impressions. Memory allows us to learn, adapt, and build relationships. Memory is divided into two types, i.e. short-term memory or working memory and long-term memory.

Diagnosing Memory Difficulties

Memory problems in children are usually first noticed by the parents and/or teachers, while adults often notice their memory issues themselves. At Neural Space, our proprietary BrainRx Cognitive Skills TestTM facilitates a professional cognitive skills evaluation. Our highly time- and cost-effective, and the most comprehensive test available in India; BrainRx Cognitive Skills TestTM measures all cognitive skills including attention, memory, visual and auditory processing, processing speed, and logic and reasoning.

The weakest cognitive sub-skills in people with memory issues include poor short-term, long-term, and/or working memory; however, other areas may suffer as well.

Professional neurological exams are useful to determine Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), dementia, Alzheimer's or brain damage Proper nutrition including complex carbohydrates, fiber, and good fats help maintain glucose levels in the brain, which are essential for good memory

Everyone should wear helmets while riding bicycles, motorcycles, mopeds, horses, etc., as well as while playing contact sports like football or rugby and other games like cricket which involve the risk of Traumatic Brain Injury

Cognitive skills training provided at Neural Space attacks the root causes of memory troubles, thus strengthening weak cognitive skills and sub-skills including short-term, long-term, and working memory.

BrainRx's cognitive skills' training is aimed at treating the causes of memory loss. The main difference between BrainRx and normal tutoring is that, tutoring focuses on specific academic subjects like math or science, while BrainRx focuses on improving fundamental memory power.
